one on one with dad

Committed, focused and about you both. One on one time.

One of our main mantras at fodada is the opportunity we have through one on one time with our children. We believe so much positive can come from this simple experience if we can follow a few basic tenets:

  • Schedule - we will have good intentions but today’s world has a way of getting the upper hand. So schedule and be realistic. Start with once a month and increase as you wish.

  • Duration - minimum of an hour but again realistic. Overnights are great but something to work towards.

  • Balanced - it’s not just about them or you but something you would both enjoy, learn, engage. This is a great conversation to have and pick a few things to try.

  • No devices or screens - That’s for both of you. Leave your phone in your pocket or in the car and don’t look at it. And none for them. This is about the two of you connecting.

  • Just one on one - It’s just different. The experience and conversation. Great to do something with more than one but one of one is about setting up the groundwork for that comfort level and attention…for you both.

  • Don’t overload it - Don’t plan too much. It’s about your time together.

  • Some ideas - A picnic, library, park, sports, whatever you do, do it together. Don’t watch them.

Let us know of one on one activities that work for you and enjoy.
